DEKA Synchro VasQ

DEKA's Synchro VasQ is a pulsed dye laser that emits at 595 nm. It is aimed mainly at vascular lesions, and DEKA also lists psoriasis, warts, scars, acne and keloids among its uses. A DEKA brochure describes energy released in micropulses, up to 8 J per pulse, a 10.4 inch color touchscreen with a protocol database, a green 532 nm aiming beam, and a 230 V, 16 A supply. The console weighs 175 kg. DEKA's magazine described it as its new selective pulsed dye laser in April 2017.

The laser side uses five handpieces with spot sizes from 5 to 12 mm, and the console recognizes each one automatically. The brochure lists maximum fluences of 33 J/cm2 at 5 mm, 19 J/cm2 at 7 mm, 10 J/cm2 at 10 mm and 7 J/cm2 at 12 mm. Laser handpieces include integrated skin cooling. The optional RightLight handpiece is a flashlamp immersed in Rhodamine 6G, the dye the laser uses, which shapes its output toward 595 nm over a 15 by 13 mm or 48 by 13 mm area, with an optional 24 by 13 mm window.

Sellers sometimes assume every Synchro is related. The Synchro HP, FT and REPLA:Y are El.En. Nd:YAG, alexandrite and pulsed light platforms with nothing in common with VasQ beyond the name. A VasQ is identified by the 595 nm rating on its label and by its dye laser handpieces. A search of openFDA 510(k) records turns up no clearance under the Synchro VasQ name, so US buyers should check the regulatory status of a specific unit.

Before an offer, list which laser handpiece sizes you have and whether the RightLight handpiece and its windows are included. Buyers will ask about the dye and flashlamp service history, the condition of the handpiece cooling, any error messages, and the pulse counts recorded on the system.
