DEKA DUOGlide

DUOGlide is a DEKA resurfacing laser that pairs a 10,600 nm CO2 source with a second source at 1540 nm. DEKA treats the CO2 beam as ablative and the 1540 nm beam as thermal, and describes the two being emitted in sequence on each fractional dot. The system comes in two versions on DEKA's site: a dermatology configuration under DEKA Aesthetics, with skin surgery, rejuvenation, photorejuvenation and scars listed as applications, and a gynecology configuration under DEKA Intimate.

Pulse control uses DEKA's Pulse Shape Design, which offers S-Pulse, D-Pulse, H-Pulse, U-Pulse and continuous wave. SmartStack repeats one to five pulses on the same dot, and a Scattered mode spreads dots across the scan area and fades them at the edges. The dermatology scanners are the µ-scan DOT for fractional or traditional resurfacing, the µ-Scar 3 for deep scars, which DEKA rates at up to 6 mm depth of action, and the Derma Scan, used with 4 inch and 7 inch focus handpieces. DEKA's Eyelide PRO eyelid procedure uses the HP pulse with a 2 inch Slimcut handpiece. The gynecology version instead carries the µ-Scan V2LR vaginal scanner, the MonaLisa Butterfly robotic positioner and a ColpoScan accessory that attaches to colposcopes.

Several DEKA CO2 platforms look alike. Glide is the CO2 only sibling with the same scanner family. HELIX pairs CO2 with a 1570 nm fiber laser, not 1540 nm, and is the dual source model Cartessa distributes in the United States. The source line on the label, CO2 plus 1540 nm, identifies a DUOGlide. The openFDA 510(k) database lists no clearance under the DUOGlide name, which a US buyer will raise.

Say whether the unit is the dermatology or gynecology configuration and list every scanner and focusing handpiece with it, since these are separate accessories. Buyers will ask about the condition of the scanner windows and lenses, any service on either laser source, and the installed software version. Photograph the serial label, the startup screen and each scanner.
