DEKA Luxea Plus

Luxea Plus is a modular DEKA platform that accepts intense pulsed light, laser and radiofrequency handpieces through a plug and play connector. DEKA describes up to 12 handpieces across these technologies and calls the system upgradable. AccessGUDID lists the DEKA LUXEA PLUS as model M117B1 under K192539, the clearance the FDA granted the DEKA LUXEA on December 16, 2019. Cartessa Aesthetics announced the Luxea for the US market in January 2020, with deliveries starting the following month.

DEKA's international page lists five pulsed light handpieces (Lilac, Viridis, Lazur, Ruber and Genus AX), a Setis radiofrequency handpiece with five interchangeable tips and a built in temperature sensor, and six laser handpieces: Vivid, an 810 nm diode for hair removal; Sparks, a 1064 nm Nd:YAG; Prisma, a Q-switched Nd:YAG; Flash at 532 nm; Enrise, a 2940 nm Er:YAG; and Insight, a 1340 nm Nd:YAP for non-ablative work. The US clearance covers a narrower set of seven: Vivid, Sparks, Prisma, Viridis, Lilac, Ruber and Lazur. It describes Lilac as a 48 by 13 mm head with interchangeable filters from 500 to 650 nm cut-on, Ruber with a fixed 550 nm filter, Lazur at 420 to 950 nm and Viridis as a 15 by 13 mm dual band head.

The Prisma here is a nanosecond tattoo and pigment handpiece, not DEKA's separate PRISMA IPL and RF platform, which confuses some sellers. The Luxea Plus name on the label, together with the model number, distinguishes it from the original Luxea.

List every handpiece by name, along with each Lilac filter and Setis tip. Buyers will ask about flashlamp condition and shot counts on the pulsed light heads, cracks in light guides and the service history of each laser handpiece. The clearance gives a 115 to 240 V supply at up to 2300 VA. Have the software version ready, and photograph the serial label, the home screen and each handpiece label.
