UltraShape Power is a Syneron Medical focused ultrasound body contouring system that disrupts subcutaneous fat mechanically rather than by heating it. FDA cleared it under K160896 in July 2016 for non-invasive reduction in abdominal circumference, and K170370 in May 2017 added fat reduction in the flanks and thighs. The 2016 summary describes a control unit with two ultrasonic transducers built on a piezoelectric ceramic core, a real-time video tracking and guidance system, and temperature sensors as a safety feature.
The Power version kept the frequency, burst duration and user interface of the earlier UltraShape and added a higher intensity option on the small transducer, rated at 660 W/cm2 compared with 550 W/cm2 before. Syneron also shrank the pulser, added a treatment mode and moved from an analog to an HD digital camera. The small transducer is named U-Sculpt Power in the 2017 summary and in a 2017 Syneron study protocol, which lists the accessories as reusable straps to gather tissue, acoustic coupling gel, a caliper and a measuring tape. The system counts focused treatment zones and sets the total for each area.
The family has three generations. Contour I version 3.1 (K133238) came first, then UltraShape (K141708), then UltraShape Power. GUDID lists the UltraShape Power System as FG71481, with US and Canadian packages, the U-Sculpt Power transducer as FG71531, and the older UltraShape system as FG71051US with a VDF transducer. All of these are shown out of commercial distribution since 2023, so check the label and transducer part numbers before describing your unit.
Buyers will want both transducers listed with part numbers and checked for membrane damage or cracking, the camera and tracking screen working, and the software version on the startup screen. Include service records, any spare transducers, straps and gel, and photos of the console label and each transducer label.
