Candela elos Plus

The elos Plus is a multi application Syneron platform built around elos technology, which pairs optical energy from a laser or intense pulsed light with bipolar radio frequency delivered through the same applicator. The FDA cleared it as the ePlus Skin Treatment System under K113868 on June 11, 2012, and Syneron announced the clearance in July 2012 after launching in Europe and Asia. The 510(k) describes the system as combining the previously cleared Polaris, Aurora and eTwo systems and their applicators in one console, with RF delivered at 1 MHz. Candela's 2019 brochure markets the same console under the Candela name.

What a given elos Plus does depends on the applicators that come with it. The 2012 clearance lists DS and DSL for hair removal, LV and LVA for vascular lesions, WRA and Sublime for wrinkle treatment, SR and SRA for superficial vascular and pigmented lesions, AC for inflammatory acne, and Sublative RF for resurfacing. A 2019 Candela brochure adds SRA Plus, SRA Mini, Motif IR, Motif HR and Motif Vantage. Syneron introduced 14 x 35 mm versions of the SR, SRA and Motif HR Plus in 2013. Triniti Plus, often listed as if it were hardware, is a combination protocol that runs several of these applicators in one visit.

Several of these parts are no longer made. FDA's device database marks the Motif IR applicator, model FG70911R, as out of commercial distribution since October 16, 2023, and gives the same date for the Motif LHR (FG70871R) and DSL (FG70641) applicators. If your system includes any of these, name them clearly in the listing.

For each applicator, give the name and model number from its label and photograph the sapphire contact cooling surface closely enough to show any chips or scratches. Add the console serial label, the screen showing which applicator is connected, the software version and the most recent service date.
