Candela Nordlys Mini

The Nordlys Mini is Candela's compact, laser only member of the Nordlys family. Candela describes it as a standalone device carrying the same two non-ablative fractional lasers found on the full Nordlys: a 1550 nm applicator for deeper resurfacing and a 1940 nm applicator for epidermal resurfacing and benign pigmented lesions. Candela puts the 1940 nm reach at up to 200 microns, and a Candela sales representative's product page gives up to 800 microns for the 1550 nm. That same page calls the Mini a diode laser system with SoftCool air cooling, a touch screen with guided presets, a patient database and Wi-Fi remote assistance.

FDA's GUDID database lists the Nordlys Mini Laser System as model 9SYS7853, in commercial distribution, under clearance K212492. That December 2021 clearance describes the Frax 1940 applicator as having built-in laser diodes that emit in a fractional pattern, and clears it for soft tissue coagulation, skin resurfacing, and benign pigmented lesions in Fitzpatrick types I to IV. GUDID lists the matching applicators as 9APP7830 (1550 nm) and 9APP7909 (1940 nm), both labeled for the Nordlys and the Nordlys Mini.

Three Candela consoles are easy to mix up. The full Nordlys adds SWT intense pulsed light applicators and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG handpiece. The Frax Pro, formerly called Ydun, is also fractional only but has its own console number, 9SYS7852, and GUDID lists a separate Frax 1940 applicator for it, 9APP7908. If the label reads 9SYS7853 and the screen shows only the two fractional lasers, you have a Nordlys Mini.

Because each applicator contains its own laser source, say which applicators are included and give their part and serial numbers. The rep page notes the roller only fires a new row at the right speed and warns when moved too fast, so mention any roller wear or tracking faults. Add the software version, service record, and photos of the console label, applicator labels and home screen.
