Cynosure TempSure Envi

TempSure Envi is the aesthetic configuration of Cynosure's TempSure radiofrequency generator, a 300 W monopolar platform that runs at 4 MHz. FDA cleared the TempSure system under K171262 on September 22, 2017, and Cynosure launched Envi in January 2018 as the first product on the platform. Its handpieces contain a thermistor at the tip so the generator reads skin temperature in real time, and Cynosure's software only starts the treatment timer once tissue reaches the set temperature. The 10, 15 and 20 mm handpieces are cleared for non ablative treatment of mild to moderate facial wrinkles, and the 18, 25 and 30 mm handpieces for heating tissue for temporary relief of pain, muscle spasms and improved local circulation.

The platform kept growing after launch. Cynosure added TempSure Surgical RF for cutting and coagulation in December 2018 and returned the TempSure Vitalia handpieces and probes to the market that same month. A 60 mm handpiece was cleared in 2019 and FlexSure applicators in 2020, both for tissue heating. Cynosure also sells body handpieces under the TempSure Firm name, and in 2022 introduced eyeEnvi, a 10 mm handpiece for the thin skin around the eyes.

If you are not sure which version you have, the part number helps. FDA's device database lists the aesthetic system and the system with surgical capability under different part numbers, and an upgrade kit converted one to the other. Name every handpiece by size, and say whether you have surgical electrodes, Vitalia parts or FlexSure applicators.

A Cynosure clinical protocol lists the handpieces and neutral pads as the system's consumables, so a buyer will look closely at the age and condition of each handpiece and its cable. Neutral pads are single use. Vitalia probes are listed in FDA's device database as single use, so note any unopened stock separately. Also have the software version and service history ready, and photograph the label with its part number, the main screen and each handpiece tip.
