Cynosure Elite iQ Pro

The Elite iQ PRO is the current version of Cynosure's dual wavelength hair removal workstation, combining a 755 nm alexandrite laser and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. FDA cleared it as a Special 510(k), K240396, on March 8, 2024, under model number M122K1, with the earlier Elite iQ (K193426) and the DEKA AGAIN PRO as predicates. Cynosure's product page states that the system is manufactured by El.En. S.p.A. and distributed by Cynosure. Its indications match the Elite iQ, including permanent hair reduction across Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI at 755 nm.

According to the FDA summary, the main change from the Elite iQ was a software update that adjusted handpiece fluence levels so the console could run a new 30 mm handpiece, along with a repetition rate of up to 12 Hz. Maximum fluence stays at 600 J/cm² and pulse durations run from 0.5 to 300 ms. Cynosure also lists 2 ms and 3 ms short pulse widths, IoT connectivity for maintenance monitoring, and the Skintel Melanin Reader for setting test spot parameters.

On the outside a PRO looks much like an Elite iQ, and FDA describes the difference as software, labeling and the added handpiece. The quickest checks are the model name on the start screen and serial label, the M122K1 model number, and whether a 30 mm handpiece is in the kit. If the label says Elite iQ without PRO, the system is the 2020 generation.

Because this model is recent, a buyer will want to know whether the unit is still under a Cynosure warranty or service contract and whether that coverage can transfer. Provide the pulse count, the installed software version, the date of the last service visit, and a list of handpieces by spot size. Photos of the label showing the model number, the main screen, the Skintel reader and the 30 mm handpiece help a dealer confirm what you have.
