Cynosure RevLite SI

The RevLite SI is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that came to Cynosure from ConBio, the Fremont, California laser business owned by HOYA. Cynosure bought it, with the older MedLite C6, in June 2011. The console emits 1064 nm and a frequency doubled 532 nm beam, and optional MultiLite dye handpieces convert the 532 nm output to 585 nm or 650 nm. Cynosure's annual report for 2011 says the RevLite is built on the MedLite C6 platform and offers up to 60 percent more power. The first RevLite clearance, K063112, went to Hoya ConBio in December 2006.

Light travels through an articulated arm. Clearance K133254, decided in March 2014, lists pulse durations of 7 to 20 nanoseconds, up to 1.6 J of delivered energy, spot sizes from 2 to 8.5 mm in 0.1 mm steps, single shot or 1, 2, 5 and 10 Hz, a 230 V supply and 131 pounds. Cynosure names three handpiece types: the SmartInfinite handpiece, which gives the SI its initials and is recognized automatically, the MultiLite dye handpieces, and the 532Lite for small pigmented lesions at low fluence. The SI also offers PTP, a mode that delivers two pulses a few microseconds apart.

Check your label, since RevLite is a family name. ConBio cleared a version with an LCD panel in January 2007 and a handpiece adaptor accessory in November 2010. FDA's device database lists a RevLite II System 220V under model 661-1000, a RevLite System 220V+ under 661-0020-1, and SI dye handpieces coded gold for 585 nm and red for 650 nm. The 2014 clearance covers tattoo removal, pigmented and vascular lesions, hair removal and skin resurfacing for acne scars and wrinkles.

A dealer will want the model number from the serial label, a screen photo showing whether PTP is available, and every handpiece by name and color. Report the condition of the arm and handpiece optics, the last service date and any flashlamp or optical work on record.
