XERF is a monopolar radiofrequency system from Lutronic, sold in the United States by Cynosure Lutronic, which calls it a multifrequency platform. FDA cleared it in August 2025 under K251327, with the Thermage FLX as predicate. The 510(k) summary describes an electrosurgical unit that generates RF at both 2 MHz and 6.78 MHz, with maximum output of 300 W at 2 MHz and 400 W at 6.78 MHz, delivered non-invasively through the tip of a handpiece while a return pad on the patient's back disperses the energy. The cleared use is electrocoagulation and hemostasis in dermatologic and general surgical procedures.

The summary lists 12 types of active electrode tips. Its comparison table gives treatment widths of 27.6 x 17.6 mm for the 60 tip, 17.6 x 17.6 mm for the 40 tip, 9 x 9 mm for the 10 tip and 9 x 4.5 mm for the 05 tip, with energy of 1 to 120 J at 2 MHz and 1 to 250 J at 6.78 MHz. Treatment starts from a footswitch or finger switch, and the console uses a 10.1 inch touch screen. Cynosure lists cryogen cooling it calls Integrated Cryogen Delivery, impedance feedback, three depth settings and ten intensity levels.

The tips are consumables. FDA's device identifier database lists XERF Effector 40 and Effector 60 tips in several versions marked single use, alongside the console and a newer XERF 2.0 console record from 2026. Cynosure states that its XERF materials are intended for distribution in the United States only, and its Canadian labeling lists different indications.

When selling a XERF, give the console version from the label, the number of unopened effectors of each type, and the supply of return pads and cryogen on hand. Buyers will ask about the handpiece and its cable, the cryogen system, the software version and the service history. Photograph the serial label, the main screen and the effector packaging.
