Lutronic Infini
Sell your used Lutronic Infini.
The Lutronic Infini is a microneedle fractional radiofrequency system, which Lutronic abbreviates MFR. FDA cleared it in June 2013 under K121481 as a bipolar RF device for electrocoagulation and hemostasis in dermatologic and general surgical procedures and for percutaneous treatment of facial wrinkles, with the Primaeva Miratone as predicate. The system consists of a main body with an LCD touch screen, a footswitch, and a handpiece that takes disposable microneedle tips. RF energy passes between the needles and forms coagulation zones in the dermis.
A 2013 multicenter white paper on the Infini describes two replaceable single-use tips: a 49 needle tip covering 10 x 10 mm in a 7 x 7 grid, and a 16 needle tip covering 5 x 5 mm in a 4 x 4 grid. The needles are surgical stainless steel, 200 microns in diameter, gold coated and then insulated with a silicone compound except for the first 300 microns, so energy leaves only near the tip. The paper also describes a flow needling mechanism that inserts the needles in rapid rows rather than all at once. A 2015 case series in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology gave a depth range of 0.5 to 3.5 mm, power settings from 2.5 W to 50 W across 20 levels, and exposure times of 10 ms to 1 second.
FDA's device identifier database lists three single-use tips for US units, the 49 pin Standard tip, the 49 pin Enhanced tip and an optional 16 pin tip, and lists the US console as INFINI MFR G U110V. Since each treatment uses a fresh tip, the system needs a supply of Lutronic tips to operate.
Tell buyers how many sealed tips of each type come with the unit and their expiration dates. Expect questions about the handpiece needle drive, the handpiece cable, the footswitch, any error history and the service record. Photograph the serial label, the screen and the tip packaging.
