Lutronic MOSAIC 3D
Sell your used Lutronic MOSAIC 3D.
MOSAIC 3D is a non-ablative fractional laser from Lutronic that uses a 1550 nm erbium glass fiber source. FDA cleared it on January 2, 2024 under K233550 as MOSAIC 3D (Surgical Laser), with the 2008 MOSAIC HP as the predicate and Solta's Fraxel Dual 1550 as a reference device. The cleared indications are dermatological procedures requiring coagulation of soft tissue and fractional skin resurfacing. The 510(k) summary lists pulse energy from 4 to 70 mJ, a 100 micrometer beam spot, densities of 25 to 500 spots/cm² and air cooling.
The name refers to what Cynosure Lutronic calls 3D Controlled Chaos Technology, a version of its randomized scanning that varies the distribution and depth of the microbeams. The system offers two ways of working: air cooled rolling, and stamping with sapphire tips that cool and compress the skin. The clearance names roller, sapphire, comb and pill tips and treatment patterns in circles from 4 to 12 mm, squares from 6 by 6 to 20 by 20 mm and rectangles from 2 by 12 to 8 by 20 mm. FDA's device database lists sapphire tips in S10 and S20 sizes and four packs of comb, pill and roller tips.
Lutronic has used the Mosaic name since 2007. The older MOSAIC HP had reusable tips in only four sizes, L10x10, L6x6, L5x10 and H10x10, offered a single pulse interval and lacked circle and rectangle patterns. The MOSAIC 3D lists both disposable and reusable tips, several interval settings including continuous, and the full pattern set. Circle patterns or S10 and S20 sapphire tips identify a MOSAIC 3D.
Before making an offer a buyer will want an inventory of tips, split into sealed packs and opened ones, along with the condition of the handpiece window and fiber. Note whether the air cooling runs without warnings, give the software version and attach photos of the serial label, the pattern selection screen and each tip type.
