See what it's worth

InMode introduced Triton in July 2018 as a workstation built only for laser hair removal. Rather than firing one wavelength at a time, each of its two handpieces blends a pair of wavelengths in the same pulse. Triton Duo Light combines 755 nm and 810 nm, and Triton Duo Dark combines 810 nm and 1064 nm. Coverage of the launch in Practical Dermatology described Duo Light for lighter skin and fine hair, Fitzpatrick types I to III, and Duo Dark for darker skin, and InMode's own page states Duo Dark is meant for skin types up to VI.

Launch materials call the 755 nm and 1064 nm components alexandrite and Nd:YAG, but the regulatory record is more specific. The FDA's GUDID lists the Triton console as a version of the InMode Diolaze XL System, tied to clearances K170738 and K180719. K180719, decided June 14, 2018, added 755/810 nm and 810/1064 nm handpieces to that platform for hair removal and describes them as diode laser handpieces, each with stacked diode bars behind a cooled sapphire light guide and an 11 by 27.5 mm spot.

So a handpiece alone does not identify the console. InMode's multi-application platforms accept Diolaze XL 755/810 and 810/1064 applicators, and the OptimasMAX applicators named Fusion Light and Fusion Dark appear in GUDID as black versions of those same pairings. Optimas consoles also take radiofrequency and light based applicators, so check the model name on the console label.

When you list a Triton, say whether you have Duo Light, Duo Dark or both, and give the pulse count for each handpiece. Inspect the sapphire window for chips or cloudiness, since it touches the skin on every pulse. The platform uses an internal water cooling system, so a buyer will ask when it was last serviced and whether any cooling or temperature errors have appeared. Include the software version and photos of the serial label, the screen and both handpiece faces.
