InMode Morpheus8

InMode's Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency microneedling system. An array of fine pins enters the skin and delivers bipolar radiofrequency energy at depth, so the energy is placed below the surface rather than applied from the outside. InMode introduced the dedicated Morpheus8 platform to the North American market in August 2020 as a workstation with two handpieces and four fractional tips.

The four tips differ in pin count and intended treatment area. The Prime tip has 12 pins and is meant for small, curved areas. The Resurfacing tip and the standard Morpheus8 tip each have 24 pins. The Body tip has 40 gold coated pins, and InMode states it reaches a thermal depth of up to 8 mm, made up of a 7 mm pin depth plus a further 1 mm thermal profile. InMode later added Burst, a mode that delivers energy at three depths in sequence within a single cycle, a few milliseconds apart.

Morpheus8 tips are single use. The FDA device database lists them as removable, single use endpieces for the handpiece, so tips are an ongoing cost for the practice rather than part of the equipment's value. Unopened, in date tips that come with a system are worth listing, but used tips are not.

When you describe your Morpheus8, say whether it is the standalone workstation, list both handpieces and their condition, and say whether your unit has Burst. Buyers will also ask for the year of manufacture, the service history and any error messages. Photos of the serial number label, the main screen and each handpiece connector help a dealer confirm the configuration. Mention any unused tips separately with their size and expiry date, since a buyer will price them apart from the system itself.
