See what it's worth

EmbraceRF is an InMode workstation for minimally invasive face work, listed in InMode's annual report with 2018 as its year of introduction and bipolar radiofrequency as its energy source. It relies on the same RFAL technology, short for radiofrequency assisted lipolysis, as InMode's older BodyTite platform. InMode, which changed its name from Invasix in November 2017, counts EmbraceRF among the product platforms it has launched since 2010.

The annual report ties three handpieces to EmbraceRF: FaceTite for face remodeling, AccuTite for smaller face and body contouring areas, and Morpheus8 for fractional RF treatment of wrinkles and texture. It cites the InMode RF/EmbraceRF platform with FaceTite and with AccuTite for dermatological indications. FaceTite was introduced in 2012 and AccuTite in 2019. FDA's 2016 clearance K151793 for the InMode RF System describes the underlying console: an RF generator at 1 MHz with up to 20 W, temperature and impedance feedback that adjusts output automatically, a touchscreen, a footswitch, and a handpiece with disposable, single-use internal and external electrodes. The 2018 clearance K182325 extends the same system to three handpiece models, HP060909A, HP101306A and HP172206A.

Because InMode handpieces move between consoles, EmbraceRF is easy to confuse with BodyTite, which runs the larger body RFAL handpiece, and with the later Morpheus8 platforms. The platform name on the serial label is the only reliable way to tell. Filings also write it as Embrace or Embrace RF.

The RFAL electrodes are single use, so most of the ongoing cost of the system is in handpieces. List every handpiece model number that came with the console, and separately list sealed handpieces and Morpheus8 tips with their expiry dates. A buyer will also ask about the footswitch, cables, software version, service history and any error messages at startup. Clear photos of the serial label, the touchscreen and each handpiece label make it much easier for a dealer to price the unit.
