The Lumenis Splendor X is a solid state laser workstation that can carry a 755 nm alexandrite source, a 1064 nm Nd:YAG source, or both. Lumenis introduced it at the 2018 ASDS meeting in Phoenix. The US 510(k) holder is the Italian manufacturer Bios S.r.l., which received clearance K241407 in June 2024 and a second clearance, K243445, in December 2024 that added a hair reduction indication for the combined alexandrite and Nd:YAG configuration.
The square beam is what most people notice first. The 510(k) summary lists square spots of 2, 3, 5, 10, 14, 18, 20, 24 and 27 mm, plus round spots from 2 mm up to 30 mm. Lumenis calls the dual wavelength mode BLEND X. As described in the US clearance, it fires an alexandrite pulse that is followed automatically by an Nd:YAG pulse, with no overlap in time. The handpiece includes a plume evacuator with a HEPA filter, and the Dual Cooling System combines Cryo-Touch and Cryo-Air cold air aimed at the treatment area.
Not every Splendor X has both lasers. The clearance names four configurations: Alex, with one 755 nm source; Alex2, with two 755 nm sources for more available power; Nd:YAG only; and Alex+Nd:YAG, the only one that can run BLEND X. In April 2025 Lumenis released an updated edition for the US and Canada with a new design, treatment presets and, on US units, added data services, so the build year also tells a buyer which edition it is.
Since the configuration decides what the console can treat, photograph the serial label and a screen that shows which wavelengths are available. Lumenis designed the flash lamp to be replaced by the user, so a buyer will ask about lamp history alongside the pulse counter. Service records, the state of the cooling system and a clean handpiece window round out what a dealer needs.
