The LightSheer Infinity is a pulsed diode array laser workstation from Lumenis and part of the LightSheer family that also includes the Duet, Desire and Desire Light. Lumenis introduced the Infinity and the Desire at the American Academy of Dermatology meeting in March 2014 and presented them in Europe at the Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress in April 2014. The Infinity runs two wavelengths. FDA's family summary, K170179, describes LightSheer handpieces that emit either 790 to 950 nm (805 nm nominal) or 1040 to 1080 nm (1060 nm nominal), depending on the diode array inside.

Handpieces fall into two groups. HS, or high speed, handpieces use vacuum assistance, which Lumenis calls HIT, while ET, XC and LR handpieces cool the skin through a ChillTip. For the Infinity, the clearance lists ET/LR 805, HS 805, ET/LR 1060 and HS 1060 handpieces. FDA's device identifier database adds parts carrying the Infinity name: the UHP 805 and UHP 1060 handpieces, an ET 9 x 9 mm adaptor and an LR 9 x 27 mm adaptor. The 1060 nm handpieces were first cleared in March 2014 under K133319.

The summary says the same LightSheer handpieces work across the consoles and differ only in their mechanical connection. Because the UHP handpieces and the ET and LR adaptors are listed only under the Infinity name, they are a quick way to confirm which console you have.

Lumenis still lists LightSheer among its products, and FDA's database also records a newer compact model, the LightSheer Quattro. When you list an Infinity, name every handpiece and adaptor with its wavelength and give the pulse count. Buyers will look at the ChillTip window, the vacuum seal on any HS handpiece, the cooling system and the service record, and they will want photos of the serial label, the screen and each handpiece label.
