The Legend Pro is a radiofrequency platform made by Pollogen and sold under the Lumenis name. It delivers bipolar RF through a fractional pin handpiece and through non-ablative surface applicators. FDA GUDID records for the Legend Pro, published in May 2019, list FDA clearance K173503. That 510(k), cleared in June 2018, covered a modified Pollogen Legend+ system that added an optional gen36L tip.
According to the GUDID entries, the VO handpiece sends bipolar RF into the skin in a non-homogeneous fractional pattern through an array of electrode pins, heating the skin under each pin for ablation and resurfacing. Applicators 1, 2 and 3 heat tissue without ablation for wrinkles and rhytides, and they are sized for large, medium and smaller facial areas. Two disposable tip lines are listed as well: Hybrid Energy tips, such as the gen12, and TriFractional tips, such as the H7X7. A Lumenis article from about 2019 groups these into three technologies, TriPollar, VoluDerm and TriFractional.
Several Pollogen consoles share these parts, so check the name and catalog number on the label. The earlier Pollogen Legend+ was cleared under K171359 in September 2017. The packed Legend Pro system carries catalog number 30020000U in GUDID. Lumenis now lists Legend Pro and Legend Pro+ as separate products. The Legend Pro DMA, cleared in 2021 under K200545, is a muscle stimulation system with its own applicators.
A buyer will want to know which applicators come with the console: the VO handpiece and how many of Applicators 1 to 3. The system also includes a foot switch and a patient controlled manual switch, so list both. Disposable tips are consumables, so give the count and type of sealed tips you have and their expiration dates. Add the service history, the software version on screen and photos of the serial label and each applicator connector.
