Alma Soprano ICE
Sell your used Alma Soprano ICE.
The Alma Soprano ICE is a diode laser platform for hair removal that joined Alma's Soprano XL family of consoles. The FDA cleared it on August 29, 2014 under K140009, which calls the ICE the new addition to a line that already included the Soprano XL and XLi. It consists of a main console, a footswitch and interchangeable modules, and its diode handpieces use continuous thermo-electric contact cooling.
The 2014 clearance covers 810 nm diode modules with 12 by 10 mm and 20 by 10 mm windows, an optional 6 mm tapered light guide, a 755 nm module with a 15 by 10 mm window, and near infrared modules for topical heating. The diode modules run in HR and SHR hair removal modes, and some add a Laser Blanch mode for vascular and pigmented lesions. A 1064 nm diode module with a 10 by 10 mm window was cleared for the ICE in May 2017 under K170626, which states that the console was unchanged apart from the software needed to run it. Alma's 2015 announcement of the Soprano ICE Multi-Platform also named Speed technology, a Compact applicator and a Facial TIP.
The Soprano ICE Platinum, announced in February 2018, is the closest relative. Its defining feature is the Trio applicator, which emits 755, 810 and 1064 nm at the same time from a single handpiece. If your system has a Trio, say so. If every handpiece emits one wavelength, the model name on the serial label settles which console you have.
A buyer will want the full list of handpieces by wavelength and window size, including tapered tips and NIR modules. If a 1064 nm handpiece is included, the console software must support it, so note the software version. Check each sapphire contact window for chips and confirm the cooling works on every handpiece, then add service records and a photo of the serial label.
