Alma's Pixel CO2 is a carbon dioxide laser at 10,600 nm, built around a sealed off, RF excited CO2 source that the Alma brochure attributes to Coherent. It comes in 30 W and 70 W versions. The FDA cleared it under K103501 on January 14, 2011, with the Alma ThermoXEL CO2 laser (K080463, cleared July 23, 2008) as its predicate and the same intended use: ablation, vaporization, excision, incision and coagulation of soft tissue in aesthetic surgery, podiatry, ENT, gynecology and other specialties. The console has a touchscreen, a seven joint articulated arm and a footswitch, and offers CW, Pulse, Repeat and Super Pulse modes.

Its delivery devices cover several jobs. Focusing applicators at 50 mm and 100 mm give spots of 0.125 mm and 0.20 mm, and the FDA device database also lists a 200 mm surgical focus handpiece. The Pixel 7x7 and 9x9 stamping applicators split the beam into 49 or 81 pixels across an 11 by 11 mm square, at 10 to 150 mJ per pixel. The iPixel Roller fires seven pixels as it rolls. LiteScan is a galvanometric scanner rated up to 3,840 mJ per pixel on the 30 W system and 7,680 mJ on the 70 W. SkinTight is a defocused, non-ablative applicator with a 6 mm spot.

The same console underlies two related products. FemiLift is a Pixel CO2 fitted with gynecology applicators, and in 2025 it received its own clearance, K250071. The Alma Hybrid, cleared in 2021, cites the Pixel CO2 as its primary predicate but adds a 1570 nm laser, and its Pixel applicator is listed as a separate part.

Buyers will ask for the power rating on the label, the age and service record of the laser tube, and a measured output check. List every applicator, inspect the arm for stiff joints, and note any damaged lenses or diffractive optics. Photos of the label, screen and each applicator help a dealer price it.
