Alma Soprano ICE Platinum
Sell your used Alma Soprano ICE Platinum.
The Alma Soprano ICE Platinum is a diode laser hair removal platform built on the Soprano ICE console. Its defining part is the Trio applicator, which fires 755 nm, 810 nm and 1064 nm diode wavelengths at the same time from a single handpiece. The FDA cleared the Trio module and the Soprano ICE Platinum name under 510(k) K172193 on January 9, 2018, and Alma announced the platform the following month. The FDA file states that the console itself was unchanged from Soprano ICE apart from the software needed to run Trio and the new name.
The Platinum brochure lists several other applicators that can ship with the system. There is a 755 nm diode applicator with a 15 x 10 mm spot, the Speed applicator at 810 nm with a 20 x 10 mm spot for larger body areas, a lighter Compact applicator at 810 nm with a 12 x 10 mm spot, and a Facial Tip with a 6 mm spot for small areas. Treatment modes include SHR with the In-Motion sweeping technique, SHR Stack and conventional stationary HR.
Because the hardware matches the earlier console, the fastest way to tell an ICE Platinum from a plain Soprano ICE is to look for a Trio handpiece and the Platinum name on the screen and label. The K172193 clearance names four Soprano family consoles: Soprano XL, Soprano XLi, Soprano ICE and Soprano ICE Platinum.
Alma's brochure says the system has no consumables, so a buyer's focus shifts to the handpieces and history. Expect questions about usage counts for each applicator, cracks in the handpiece housings, the cables, contact cooling, and the software version shown on the 15 inch touchscreen. List every applicator by name and spot size, and photograph the serial label, the start screen and each handpiece tip.
