Venus Concept Venus Versa

The Venus Versa is a modular aesthetic platform that runs three kinds of energy from one console: intense pulsed light, fractional radiofrequency for resurfacing, and Venus Concept's (MP)2 technology, which pairs multipolar radiofrequency with pulsed electromagnetic fields. FDA clearance K153717, decided on March 21, 2016, describes one console with ten detachable applicators: SR515, SR580, HR650, HR690, HR650XL, HR690XL, ACDUAL, DiamondPolar, OctiPolar and Viva.

The IPL applicators are named for their filters. The SR515 and SR580 cover 515 to 950 nm and 580 to 950 nm and are cleared for benign pigmented and vascular lesions. The HR650 and HR690 cover 650 to 950 nm and 690 to 950 nm for hair removal in skin types I to IV, with XL versions that enlarge the spot from 10 by 30 mm to 20 by 30 mm. The ACDUAL emits at 415 to 480 nm and 630 to 950 nm for acne vulgaris. The DiamondPolar and OctiPolar run (MP)2 at 1 MHz for facial wrinkles. The Viva applicator delivers fractional radiofrequency at 0.46 MHz through a 160 pin tip at up to 62 mJ per pin.

Because applicators were sold separately, no two Versa systems are alike, and the console says little on its own. It measures 55 by 65 by 110 cm and weighs 35 kg, the same as the Versa Pro. The Pro adds the Viva MD applicator with an 80 pin tip at up to 124 mJ per pin, so a unit that recognizes the 80 pin tip is a Pro. Venus Velocity is a separate diode laser system, not a Versa applicator.

The applicator list sets the value of a Versa. Name every applicator by its printed code, such as HR650XL rather than just hair removal, and note any cracked or chipped light guides. The Viva applicator uses detachable single use tips, so count any unopened tips separately. Add the service history and photos of the serial label, the main screen and each applicator label.
