Venus Concept Venus Glow

Venus Glow is a hydradermabrasion system sold by Venus Concept. The company's annual reports describe a console and applicator that combine three actions in one treatment: a rotating tip, vacuum and a jet of fluid. In the United States it is listed with the FDA as a Class I motorized dermabrasion device rather than cleared through a 510(k). Health Canada lists it as Class I, and in the EU it is not regulated as a medical device. Venus Concept's 2019 merger prospectus dates the US introduction to the fourth quarter of 2018. The current product page calls Venus Concept the exclusive distributor.

Venus Concept's published specifications describe a 7 inch touchscreen, three levels of tip spin from 125 to 168 RPM, and three adjustable levels each for suction and fluid injection. The console measures 320 by 360 by 320 mm and weighs 7 kg, and with its cart the total rises to 23.5 kg. It runs on 100 to 240 VAC and draws 90 W.

The treatment uses a set of branded solutions. GlowSkinPrep is a cleansing and exfoliating step containing lactic acid, followed by one of four serums: GlowClara, GlowNova, GlowSana and GlowAstra. Venus Concept markets the delivery method as porefusion. Venus Concept's other systems are energy based, so the Glow is easy to identify within the brand. Against other hydradermabrasion units, the Venus Glow name on the console and the Glow branded solution bottles are the clearest guides.

Buyers of a used Glow ask about the parts that touch fluid. Say whether the cart and handpiece are included, whether the tip still spins at all three levels, and whether suction and injection respond normally. Mention how the fluid lines were cleaned and stored. List any unopened Glow solutions with their expiration dates, since a buyer will want to know the system can be restocked. Add the service history and photos of the label, the touchscreen and the handpiece.
