Fotona SP Dynamis Pro

The Fotona SP Dynamis Pro is a dual wavelength laser workstation with two flashlamp pumped sources in one console: a 2940 nm Er:YAG laser and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. Dynamis Pro is the family name Fotona used in its FDA submissions beginning with K143723, cleared on April 9, 2015. That filing compared the Pro family with the original Dynamis systems and listed an LCD touchscreen where the earlier units had push-button controls. Later clearances followed in October 2018 (K182088) and September 2022 (K213267).

The two wavelengths travel by different routes. Er:YAG light goes through an articulated arm, and Nd:YAG light goes through an optical fiber to a manual handpiece or a scanner. Fotona's current accessory list includes the F-Runner fractional Er:YAG scanner, the S-Runner, the T-Runner (S22-T) scanner with an 8 mm spot, the S-11 Nd:YAG scanner and the L-Runner Pro. Manual handpieces include the R33-T Nd:YAG handpiece with a 2 to 10 mm spot, the R34-T at 15 or 20 mm, the FS01 fractional handpiece with a 9 by 9 pixel matrix, and the R27 and R27C fiber handpieces for QCW surgical work.

Several consoles share this design. The SP Dynamis has an 80 W Nd:YAG with QCW and PIANO modes as standard, while the smaller SP Spectro is rated at 35 W and offers those modes only as options. Newer consoles are sold as the SP Dynamis Nx Line and Dynamis Max. The FDA device database lists SP Dynamis as model M021-4AF/3, so check the rear label.

Many Pro era units carry a mix of older parts, such as a plain R33, alongside newer MatrixView versions like the R33-T, so list every handpiece and scanner by its engraved part number. Buyers will ask about the arm, the Nd:YAG fiber, flashlamp service dates, the software version and the wireless footswitch. Photos of the serial label, the touchscreen and each handpiece help a dealer price it remotely.
