Quanta System Q-Plus C

Q-Plus C is one configuration of Quanta System's Q-Plus platform, a family of Q-switched lasers for tattoo and pigment work. Quanta's company history dates the first QPlus to 2006 and calls it the company's first aesthetic laser to pair a 694 nm ruby source with 532 and 1064 nm Nd:YAG. An earlier FDA filing in the line, the Q-Plus T plus IPL (K123168, December 2012), describes Q-switched Nd:YAG output up to 1000 mJ at 1064 nm and 500 mJ at 532 nm, a Q-switched ruby source up to 1000 mJ at 694 nm, and an articulated arm with 2 to 6 mm handpieces.

Q-Plus C is still offered in the current Q-Plus EVO series, alongside Q-Plus A, Q-Plus R, C-MT, Q-Plus Star 1 and 2, and Ultralight. Depending on the configuration, the series offers up to five wavelengths: 1064, 532, 694, 1320 and 755 nm. Quanta's Italian page describes the C-MT as the Q-Plus C with an MT option that mixes ruby 694 nm with Nd:YAG 1064 nm or 532 nm output. EVO units have a 10.4 inch touchscreen, Optibeam II round and square handpieces, 9HC and 8DF fractional handpieces, a NaturaPeel handpiece, and a Twain connector for IPL or Er:YAG 2940 nm handpieces. Quanta notes that the Q-switched sources are active and use no consumable dyes.

The letter after Q-Plus identifies the configuration, so read the label. A C-MT includes the mixed emission option and a plain C does not, and Star models add pulsed hybrid sources and skin cooling. The Q-switched 694 nm ruby source appears in the FDA filing for the EVO Platform.

Buyers will ask which handpieces and Twain modules are included, the condition of the articulated arm and optics, the shot counts on each source, the software version, and when the laser heads were last serviced.
