Sciton MOXI

MOXI is Sciton's non-ablative fractional laser at 1927 nm. It is a module, not a standalone console, and it arrived in June 2020 as a launch module on Sciton's mJOULE platform. Sciton's 2023 specification sheet lists fiber delivery, output from 1 to 20 mJ, 12 W of power, a beam size of 200 to 300 microns, treatment depth up to 200 microns and variable density. The GUDID record for mJoule cites 510(k) K182173, Sciton's JOULE 1927nm Laser System, cleared on March 6, 2019 for coagulation of soft tissue, actinic keratosis and benign pigmented lesions such as lentigos and ephelides.

The handpiece uses optical navigation to track its own motion across the skin, with lights that tell the operator whether hand speed is in range. Operators can set the scan width to 15, 7 or 4 mm, and the software offers Manual, Quick Start and Measure modes, with Quick Start holding three preset treatment levels. Each treatment uses a single-use tip fitted with rollers, and Sciton states that the computerized tip tracks treatment duration. That makes the tip a consumable a buyer will budget for.

The fractional handpiece on a used system is not always the original. On September 1, 2026, Sciton announced Super MOXI with High Density Delivery, which uses twin beams and a 16 W diode and runs on the mJOULE and JOULE X consoles. The label on the handpiece tells you which one you have.

When you describe a MOXI for sale, name the console it is mounted on and include that console's serial label photo. Count the unopened tips in the box and note their packaging dates. Photograph the rollers and the tip interface, and report any fiber or handpiece error shown on screen. A buyer will also want the software version and the service log.
