The mJOULE is Sciton's compact multi-technology console, announced on June 11, 2020 with two launch modules: the BBL HERO pulsed light handpiece and the MOXI 1927 nm fractional laser. Sciton's 2021 brochure calls it a smaller, expandable dual module version of the JOULE, and the 2023 specification sheet lists a 110 V, 20 amp supply. The FDA GUDID record for mJoule, published in July 2020, references 510(k) K182173, the clearance for Sciton's JOULE 1927nm Laser System decided on March 6, 2019.

Because the console is modular, the name alone does not say what a unit does. Sciton's 2023 literature lists four options. BBL HERO covers 420 to 1400 nm with quick change filters and a 15 x 45 mm window. MOXI delivers 1 to 20 mJ at 1927 nm through a fiber, with a 200 to 300 micron beam and treatment depth up to 200 microns. ClearV and ClearSilk are both 1064 nm lasers: ClearV uses spot sizes from 3 to 10 mm and fluences up to 400 J/cm2, while ClearSilk runs 7 to 10 mm spots with submillisecond pulses. FDA cleared a 1064 nm mJOULE System in April 2022 under K213350, and an mJOULE RF System and Accessories in April 2024 under K222958.

Newer handpieces also fit this console. BBL HEROic, announced in April 2024, adds a motion sensing handpiece with status LEDs, and Super MOXI, announced in September 2026, uses twin beams and a 16 W diode on both mJOULE and JOULE X.

List every module and handpiece installed, and say whether the BBL handpiece is HERO or HEROic and whether the fractional handpiece is MOXI or Super MOXI. A buyer will ask how many sealed MOXI tips come with it, which BBL filters and adapters are present, the software version and the service history. Photos of the serial label and the home screen showing the installed modules settle most questions.

These ranges come from current asking prices on the open market rather than completed sales.
