Sciton Halo
Sell your used Sciton Halo.
HALO is the hybrid fractional laser that Sciton introduced in April 2014 at the American Academy of Dermatology meeting. It fires a non-ablative 1470 nm diode wavelength and an ablative 2940 nm Er:YAG wavelength into the same microscopic treatment zone. Sciton describes the 2940 nm ablation as adjustable from 20 to 100 microns and the 1470 nm coagulation as reaching as deep as 700 microns, with each wavelength set independently. HALO is not a standalone console but a module and handpiece on Sciton's JOULE platform.
The HALO handpiece carries most of what makes the system distinct. Air cooling and smoke evacuation are built into it, so one person can run a treatment. Dynamic Thermal Optimization adjusts the power of each 1470 nm pulse to the measured skin temperature. An optical navigation system tracks how fast the handpiece is moving, and an LED speedometer gives the operator visual and audible pacing feedback. Adjustable Beam Placement lets the user choose a 15, 7 or 4 mm beam and place it to the left or right. Sciton calls HALO its first product with a roller mechanism.
HALO TRIBRID, announced in October 2025 for the JOULE X, is a separate and newer handpiece. It adds a 1927 nm wavelength to 1470 and 2940 nm, extends erbium ablation to 150 microns, and uses a single use Vortex Adapter. If your handpiece and software show only two wavelengths, you have the original HALO. MOXI, the 1927 nm handpiece sold on the mJOULE, is also a different product.
Expect a buyer to ask whether the console is a JOULE or JOULE X, which other modules are installed, and whether HALO is active in the software. Send photos of the handpiece face, the roller and the cooling and evacuation connections, along with the serial label and the main screen. Service records showing handpiece repairs help a dealer price the system.
