Sciton Joule X

The Sciton JOULE X is a modular laser and light platform built to order in Palo Alto, California. Each console is configured with the application modules the original practice chose, and Sciton allows modules to be added later, so no two JOULE X systems are guaranteed to be the same. That makes the module list the single most important thing to record when you sell one.

The platform combines several energy sources. The BBL BroadBand Light module uses interchangeable smart filters across roughly 420 to 1400 nm, and BBL HERO is the newer generation of that module with its own filter set. HALO is a hybrid fractional module that sends a 1470 nm diode wavelength and a 2940 nm erbium wavelength to the same treatment zone. ProFractional and Contour TRL use the 2940 nm erbium laser for fractional and full field resurfacing. The ClearSilk and ClearV modules use a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, and SkinTyte uses dedicated infrared BBL filters.

Sciton also sells the mJOULE, a smaller platform that debuted the MOXI fractional module alongside BBL HERO. The two are easy to confuse in listings, so confirm the model name on the console label before you describe the system.

When you list a JOULE X, name every module and handpiece that is installed and working, including each BBL filter you have. A system with BBL HERO, HALO and the erbium resurfacing modules is a very different offer from one with BBL alone. Buyers will also ask for the year of manufacture, the service history, whether the system is still on a Sciton service plan, and the condition of each handpiece. Photos of the serial number label, the module selection screen and every handpiece help a dealer confirm the configuration before making an offer.
