Cutera Secret PRO

Secret PRO is a combination system that puts a fractional CO2 laser and radiofrequency microneedling in one console. It is built by the South Korean manufacturer ILOODA and sold in the United States by Cutera. The laser operates at 10,600 nm, and the microneedling side delivers RF energy at 2 MHz. Aesthetics Journal reported its addition to Cutera's lineup in June 2021. FDA cleared the system under the Secret Pro name in 510(k) K233374, decided December 14, 2023. It covers the CO2 laser in fractional mode for ablative skin resurfacing and in non-fractional mode for surgical cutting, ablation and coagulation of soft tissue, plus the RF component for electrocoagulation and hemostasis.

Cutera's product page lists a CO2 fractional handpiece and an RF microneedling handpiece and says the console accepts three handpieces in total. The manufacturer's specification page describes a scanner handpiece with a scan area adjustable up to 20 by 20 mm, a single beam handpiece with seven spot size settings, and fractional needle handpieces. A 2021 Modern Aesthetics interview mentions an optional surgical CO2 handpiece used for lesions such as skin tags. The FDA clearance also names the Secret RF Smartcure applicator.

The CO2 laser is what separates this console from the rest of the Secret line. Secret RF has microneedling only, and Secret DUO pairs microneedling with a nonablative 1540 nm erbium glass laser rather than an ablative CO2 source. The model name on the serial label confirms which one you own.

Before an offer, a buyer will want to know which of the handpieces are present, including the surgical handpiece or the Smartcure applicator if the practice bought them. Expect questions about the scanner optics, the date of the last laser power check and any service on the CO2 source. Single use microneedle tips are priced apart from the console, so list unopened boxes separately. Photos of the serial label, the treatment screen and every handpiece let a dealer confirm the configuration.
