Wontech PICOCARE MAJESTY

PICOCARE MAJESTY is Wontech's newer picosecond Nd:YAG laser, listed by the company as a picosecond 1064 nm and 532 nm system. The FDA cleared it under K212127 in January 2022, using the earlier Picocare Family and a picosecond Nd:YAG laser from Shanghai Apolo Medical as predicates. A second clearance, K241144, followed in June 2024, this time with Wontech's PICOANDY and Hironic's PICOHI as predicates. Both filings describe a main unit, an articulated arm, a handpiece and a footswitch, with an LCD and touch pad for fluence, repetition rate and spot selection.

The 2022 filing lists pulse widths of 300 to 400 picoseconds, up to 500 mJ at 1064 nm and 250 mJ at 532 nm, spots from 2 to 10 mm, a maximum of 10 Hz, and a single zoom handpiece covering both wavelengths. Fluence could be set in 0.1 steps from 0.2 to 16 J per square centimeter at 1064 nm. The 2024 filing shortens the pulse to 275 to 300 picoseconds and lists zoom, collimation, microlens array (MLA) and DOE delivery at both wavelengths. It adds benign pigmented lesions to tattoo removal in the cleared indications.

Against PICOCARE 450, the Majesty's shorter pulse is the main technical difference. The 450 family filing gives 450 picoseconds and a zoom handpiece. Within the Majesty line, the handpiece set is the practical clue: a unit with only a zoom handpiece matches the 2022 description, while collimation, MLA and DOE handpieces match the 2024 version. Check the pulse width the console displays, since PICOANDY is a separate Wontech model with 350 to 550 picosecond pulses.

List each handpiece that comes with the system and note any that are missing. A buyer will ask for the pulse counter reading, the service history, the condition of the articulated arm, and whether the handpiece lenses are clean and unscratched. Photograph the serial label, the start screen and every handpiece label.
