Exion is BTL's multi-applicator radiofrequency platform, built on the console family that appears in FDA records as the BTL-785. The GUDID names three Exion handpieces, all published in May 2023: the EXION Body applicator (BTL-785-1), the EXION Face applicator (BTL-785-2) and the EXION Fractional RF applicator (BTL-785-4). FDA first cleared the console as the BTL-785F in August 2020 (K193201), with later versions cleared as the BTL-785W, BTL-785X, BTL-785S and, in March 2026, the BTL-785NEH. The console has a 15.6 inch touch screen and accepts exchangeable applicator tips.
FDA summaries describe what each handpiece does. The body applicator combines radiofrequency, ultrasound and active cooling for large areas. The face applicator combines radiofrequency and ultrasound for small areas, and a 2024 BTL-sponsored study described it as emitting radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound at the same time. The fractional applicator delivers radiofrequency through an array of microneedles or superficial pins using single-use tips, and the clearance limits energies above 62 mJ per pin to skin types I to IV. A separate BTL-785-3 applicator delivers radiofrequency through single-use tips.
Exion can be confused with BTL's older Exilis line, which pairs radiofrequency with non-targeted ultrasound and uses applicators with 215 model numbers. Exion applicators carry 785 model numbers. The same console family also runs the Emface controller, so an Exion cart can include facial muscle stimulation hardware as well.
A buyer needs a complete applicator list, since each handpiece adds a separate capability. Count the sealed fractional tips and note their expiration dates, because the fractional applicator cannot be used without them. Photograph the console label showing its BTL-785 model letter, each applicator label, and the treatment surfaces of the body and face applicators. Include the software version, any usage figures on screen and the service history.
