See what it's worth

ReFirme is Syneron's name for a non-invasive skin tightening and wrinkle procedure, and in practice sellers use the name for the ST applicator that delivers it. It is not a standalone console. The ST applicator combines infrared light with bipolar radiofrequency, Syneron's elos pairing, and attaches to Syneron host platforms. Syneron's annual report states that the FDA granted 510(k) clearance to the new ST applicator for non-invasive wrinkle treatment in March 2006. The clearance, K053616, was filed as the Polaris WR, ST Applicator, and its summary says the only change from the original Polaris WR was widening the output spectrum from 780 to 980 nm to 700 to 2000 nm.

Syneron's archived ReFirme page lists the eMax and eLight as the associated platforms, and Syneron's eStyle page also offers ReFirme skin tightening. The eLaser delivered ReFirme through a different applicator: its brochure describes the WRA applicator, which pairs a 900 nm diode laser with bipolar RF. Syneron's page says the ST procedure targets jowl and neck laxity, sagging under the eyes, brow lines and nasolabial folds.

Because the name covers both an applicator and a procedure, a listing titled ReFirme needs more detail than the name alone. State whether you have the ST applicator by itself, an ST applicator together with its host system, or an eLaser WRA applicator, and give the host model if there is one. An applicator without a compatible eMax, eLight or eStyle console has limited use, so a buyer will ask which console it came from.

Photos of the applicator label, the treatment surface, the electrodes and the cable are the starting point. If the host console is included, add its serial label and a photo of the screen with the applicator connected and recognized. Note the year of the system, any error messages and its service history, since Syneron introduced these platforms in 2006.
