Rohrer Aesthetics PicoLazer
Sell your used Rohrer Aesthetics PicoLazer.
PicoLazer is a picosecond Nd:YAG laser from Rohrer Aesthetics with two output wavelengths, 1064 nm and 532 nm. The FDA cleared it under 510(k) K192583, decided on January 17, 2020, with the PicoCare Family from Won Tech and Candela's PicoWay as predicate devices. The 510(k) summary lists a 450 picosecond pulse at 1064 nm and 375 picoseconds at 532 nm, maximum pulse energy of 500 mJ at 1064 nm and 250 mJ at 532 nm, a maximum spot of 10 mm and a repetition rate of 1 to 10 Hz.
The cleared system consists of a console, an articulated arm, a laser handpiece, a footswitch and a remote interlock plug. The summary gives the console as 176 pounds and 25 by 26 by 48 inches, running on either 100 to 120 volts at 20 amps or 200 to 240 volts at 15 amps. Rohrer's product page describes a fractional lens and a telescopic lens, spot sizes adjustable from 2 mm to 10 mm, and a 120 volt cord for a standard wall outlet.
The clearance covers treatment of benign pigmented lesions and removal of dark tattoo inks at 1064 nm on Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI, and lighter inks, including red and yellow, plus benign pigmented lesions at 532 nm on types I to III. Do not confuse the PicoLazer with the Q-switched 1064 and 532 nm handpiece on Rohrer's Spectrum. That handpiece is one of five modules on a multi-technology console and fires nanosecond pulses, while the PicoLazer is a standalone picosecond laser with its own arm.
For a used PicoLazer, a dealer will ask which lenses come with it, whether the arm moves freely without damage to its joints or mirrors, and whether the footswitch is present. Photos of the serial label and of the screen after startup help, along with a pulse count or usage figure if the software displays one. Include service records.
