CoolSculpting Elite

CoolSculpting Elite is a cryolipolysis system from Zeltiq Aesthetics, now part of Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company. A portable control unit drives thermoelectric modules that cool tissue through detachable vacuum and surface applicators. Allergan announced the system in late January 2021, with first units scheduled to ship that quarter. FDA cleared it by name under K212707 in November 2021 and cleared a revised version, K233732, in September 2024. Cleared uses include cold-assisted lipolysis of the upper arm, bra fat, banana roll, thigh, abdomen and flank in people with a BMI of 30 or less, and of the submental and submandibular areas.

The K212707 summary lists seven applicators. Four are curved vacuum cups, the C80, C120, C150 and C240. Two are flat vacuum cups, the F125 and F165, and one is a surface applicator called the S150. The 2024 clearance added a larger S180 surface applicator and a software update that sends usage logs and diagnostics over Wi-Fi. The control unit has two applicator ports, two vacuum pumps and two chiller pumps, so two areas can be treated at the same time.

Telling an Elite apart from an earlier console is mostly a matter of the applicators. Older CoolSculpting systems used cups named CoolAdvantage, CoolAdvantage Plus, CoolAdvantage Petite, CoolMini and CoolSmooth PRO, while Elite cups carry the C, F and S model codes. A January 2020 clearance, K193566, covered the first two-port control unit and the C150 cup before the Elite name appeared in FDA records, so a console from that year deserves a close look at its label.

Treatment cycles come from cycle cards, which FDA lists as a system accessory next to gel pads, gel traps and liners. Buyers ask how many unused cycles come with the sale and which software version is installed. Name each applicator by model code and note any cracked cups or damaged umbilical hoses. Photos of the control unit serial label, the touchscreen and every applicator label help a dealer price the system.
