Vydence ZYE YAG

ZYE YAG is one of two ZYE laser platforms from VYDENCE Medical, the Brazilian maker of the ETHEREA-MX. VYDENCE describes ZYE as a smartLASER platform offered in two configurations: ZYE YAG, built around a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, and ZYE ALX, built around a 755 nm alexandrite laser. On the YAG version, the Nd:YAG output can be delivered through four fiber handpiece choices for long and short pulse work, and the console also accepts the plug in ETHEREA-MX handpieces such as handPICO, ProDeep, DualMode, ACROMA, LongPulse, GoSmooth and IPL.

FDA cleared the Vydence Zye and Vydence One under K202998 in October 2021. Its indications for the 1064 nm fiber delivered handpiece name the ZYE YAG applicator for coagulation of vascular lesions, hair reduction across Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI and pseudofolliculitis barbae, plus a DYNAMICS mode for temporary increase of clear nail in onychomycosis and an INTENSE mode for laser assisted lipolysis.

The fiber handpieces carry VYDENCE names that help identify a unit. The 3-10/VL and 8-18/HR use a TELESCOPE zoom to change spot size and COOL-&-CLEAR sapphire contact cooling, and the 8-18/HR has a square FLAT-FRAME spot. The 3-24/HR uses plug and play spots up to 24 mm, and the 5-15/LT, used for rejuvenation and tightening, has a distance guide. The 5-15/LT and 3-24/HR include an AccuSense skin temperature sensor. A ZYE ALX console uses alexandrite fiber handpieces instead, so the console badge and fiber handpiece labels settle which configuration you have.

VYDENCE states that ZYE consoles support remote technical monitoring and online usage management, so ask whether the unit is still registered to your practice. Buyers will inspect fibers for kinks or burns, sapphire windows for chips and cooling for function, and will ask for the software version and service records. List every fiber and plug in handpiece with its label, and photograph the console label and main screen.
