Vydence ZYE ALX

ZYE ALX is the alexandrite configuration of the ZYE laser platform from VYDENCE Medical, a laser manufacturer based in Sao Carlos, Brazil. VYDENCE offers ZYE in two versions: ZYE YAG, built around a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, and ZYE ALX, built around a 755 nm alexandrite laser. VYDENCE positions the ALX mainly for hair removal on skin types I to IV and for brown spots, and says the alexandrite output can be delivered through three fiber choices for long and short pulse treatment, with contact cooling and air chiller options.

Like the ZYE YAG, the ALX also runs the plug in handpieces of the ETHEREA-MX platform, including handPICO, ProDeep, DualMode, ACROMA-QS, LongPulse, GoSmooth and IPL-Sq. A published VYDENCE case report describes a ZYE ALX used with handPICO and ProDeep handpieces. FDA cleared the Vydence Zye and Vydence One under K202998 in October 2021, which lists a 755 nm fiber delivered handpiece for hair reduction, benign pigmented lesions, wrinkles and vascular lesions. The 2026 family clearance, K252753, adds a Zye Ultra configuration with a blended mode that fires 755 nm and 1064 nm sequentially.

Sellers should confirm which ZYE they have. The ALX fiber handpieces VYDENCE lists are the 3-10/VL, 3-24/HR and 8-18/HR. The 3-10/VL and 8-18/HR use TELESCOPE zoom and COOL-&-CLEAR sapphire contact cooling, the 8-18/HR has a square FLAT-FRAME spot, and the 3-24/HR takes plug and play spots up to 24 mm with an AccuSense temperature sensor. A console that also runs 1064 nm fiber handpieces points to a YAG or Ultra unit, so read the badge and the handpiece labels.

VYDENCE says ZYE consoles support remote monitoring and online usage management, so check whether the unit remains registered to your practice. Buyers will inspect fibers, sapphire windows and cooling, and ask for the software version and service records. List each fiber and plug in handpiece by label, and photograph the console label and main screen.
