Classys Ultraformer MPT

The Ultraformer MPT is Classys's current high intensity focused ultrasound platform, marketed in Korea as Shurink Universe. It received Korean approval in October 2021 and went on sale in January 2022, then expanded to Brazil, Japan, Thailand and other markets. MPT stands for Micro Pulsed Technology. In North America, Cartessa Aesthetics sells it exclusively in Canada, and a search of FDA's 510(k) database returns no clearance under the Ultraformer name.

The system has two energy modes. Normal mode places spaced dots of coagulation, while Micro Pulsed mode lays densely packed points in a line, and Classys says both run from the same cartridge without a swap. Two cartridge families are offered. Classys lists ULTRA F cartridges at focal depths of 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0, 9.0 and 13.0 mm, and an ULTRA BOOSTER line with the DERMA Booster at 1.5 mm, CELLUP Booster at 3.0 mm and LINEUP Booster at 4.5 mm, which fire circular patterns. Other listed specifications include bidirectional scanning, Normal mode energy from 0.1 to 1.0 J, adjustment in 0.1 J steps, treatment lengths of 5 to 25 mm, 100 to 240 volt power and a 37 kg console.

The MPT took over from the Ultraformer III as the premium model, while the III stayed in the line for the budget market. They are easy to separate: the III uses cartridges with model names such as L7-3.0 and MF9, while the MPT offers MP and Normal modes and takes cartridges labeled ULTRAFORMER MPT or Booster. Korean units read Shurink Universe rather than Shurink.

Tell buyers which cartridges come with the unit, their depths and how much use each has had. Note where the console was sold, since that determines its labeling, and include the service history with photos of the serial label, the main screen and every cartridge.
