Accure Acne Laser System
Sell your used Accure Acne Laser System.
The Accure Laser System is a 1726 nm laser built to treat inflammatory acne by heating the sebaceous glands, which sit deeper than the skin surface and absorb that wavelength through their sebum. Accure Acne, Inc., based in Boulder, Colorado, developed it with R. Rox Anderson of the Wellman Center for Photomedicine as co-founder and Quanta System of Milan, a subsidiary of Italy's El.En. Group, as engineering partner. FDA cleared it in November 2022 under K222109 for mild to severe inflammatory acne vulgaris, and in October 2024 under K242035 for the long-term treatment of mild to severe inflammatory acne vulgaris.
What separates Accure from a conventional laser is its control system. Accure describes a treat to temperature approach: a thermal imaging camera watches skin temperature in real time while forced air cooling protects the epidermis, and a pulsing algorithm builds heat gradually. Investigators presenting early work in 2019 said the device is built to shut off before an unsafe temperature is reached and that real-time thermal monitoring of this kind requires air cooling rather than contact or cryogen cooling. Accure's protocol uses four sessions spaced one month apart.
The system is recent and has moved through a limited release. Accure planned a controlled launch with selected dermatologists after its 2022 clearance, reported a limited US commercial release in 2024, and has since expanded to the Middle East, Europe, the Caribbean and Asia Pacific. FDA's GUDID lists the Accure laser under Quanta System as model PFMS00004, a detail that helps confirm a unit's identity from its label.
Because few units have changed hands, buyers will want proof that the practice owns the system and that any service or software agreement can transfer. They will check that the thermal camera and air cooling work, that the handpiece optics are clean, and that the software is current. Photos of the serial label, the main screen and the handpiece help a dealer confirm what is for sale.
